چکیده

This paper presents the works done by several research groups from University of Extremadura and CETA-CIEMAT (Centro Extremeño de Tecnoloǵıas Avanzadas) in order to deploy an infrastructure for distributed computing over Secondary School computing resources at Extremadura (Spain). To achieve the highest levels of performance, some tests have been developed. From small proofs of concepts with a few dozens of computers to large deployments devoted to big and real projects. Other works, such as damage hardware ratio or virtualization, are also presented.

Weighted-HR: An Improved Hierarchical Grid Resource Discovery

Grid computing environments include heterogeneous resources shared by a large number of computers to handle the data and process intensive applications. In these environments, the required resources must be accessible for Grid applications on demand, which makes the resource discovery as a critical service. In recent years, various techniques are proposed to index and discover the Grid resource...

Arabic Cursive Characters Distributed Recognition using the DTW Algorithm on BOINC

Volunteer computing or volunteer grid computing constitute a very promising infrastructure which provides enough computing and storage powers without any prior cost or investment. Indeed, such infrastructures are the result of the federation of several, geographically dispersed, computers or/and LAN computers over the Internet. Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) is consi...

Dynamic Time Warping Algorithm with Distributed Systems

Distributed computing is the method of splitting a large problem into smaller pieces and allocating the workload among many computers. These individual computers process their portions of the problem, and the results are combined together to form a solution for the original problem. At present, Distributed computing systems can be broadly classified into two methods, namely Grid computing and V...
